Starting from the basics

We can supply you with a caravan or work with your own.

We will then go through colours, layout and any other special requirements.

We aim to give you constructive advice along the way e.g. What works and what doesn’t?

Here at Retro Custom Caravans we use only the best available materials which are made to help withstand New Zealand’s harsh environment.

I began my apprenticeship at the ripe old age of 16 and gained my car painting qualification shortly afterwards. I have owned my own business for over 30 years. I have dealt with a wide range of work ranging from cars, boats, heavy machinery and motorhomes. Over the years I have travelled to America countless times looking for new restoration projects. Through this process I have gained a wealth of experience in the importing  of goods from the USA to New Zealand. I have a passion for American cars and it wasn’t until recently that I discovered the potential for giving a new life to older caravans with a ‘Retro style’ finish.  Restoring a car has very limited room for changes where a
caravan is a blank canvas and the boundaries are endless.

I started my first caravan in 2010 and had so much fun doing it.
The more I worked on it, the more ideas I got and I just had to do
another. This is where ‘Get Rhythm‘ comes into the picture. I found ‘Get
Rhythm’ in Tauranga – her previous life history is still yet unknown.

I spent countless nights on ‘Get Rhythm’ to get it finished in time for her first public showing in Jan 2012.

From that show ‘Get Rhythm’ went viral, appearing in many different magazines and websites.

If this sounds like a bit of you and you’re tired of the same old same old, then we are the people you need to see!

“When you get the blues get rhythm”…
